Meddle About

Thank you, Torch Lit Ink and Bea, for sending me an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.

Meddle About is a forbidden romance centered on a professor-student relationship.
After a one-night stand, Benjamin Silver walks into his first lecture at Glendon University, only to discover that the woman he shared that unforgettable night with is now his student.

Tropes:
Age gap
Student x teacher
One-night stand
He fell first and harder
Forbidden love
Forced proximity
Betting
Love triangle (just because someone is jealous)

My Thoughts:
While I do enjoy the forbidden romance of a Professor x Student, this one just didn't do it for me. There was little concern about getting caught, and instead, the pivotal 75% moment—the “balls about to drop” twist—focused more on the competition between two brothers rather than the romance itself. I also didn't like the whole "bet" aspect of the story. It made me feel like they were objectifying the FMC.
Overall, I think that this story and the author have great potential. But unfortunately, this one just fell flat for me.
