I didn’t expect this book to captivate me from the very first page. The powerful imagery of drowning beautifully parallels Valetta's struggles with mental health, substance abuse, and her estranged family. The visualization and metaphors surrounding water serve as a poignant symbol of Valetta’s deep emotional scars, making her journey both relatable and heart-wrenching.
